Maa-nulth First Nations [ Huu-ay-aht, Ka:'yu:'k't'h/Che:k'tles7et'h', Toquaht, Uchucklesaht, Ucluelet ]
The Maa-nulth First Nations Final Agreement took effect on April 1, 2011. The five First Nations, Canada, and British Columbia are over seven years into the implementation of their new relationship.
The traditional territory is located on the west coast of Vancouver Island surrounding Barkley and Kyuquot Sounds. These five former Indian Act bands implemented the Maa-nulth treaty as five independent governments.
Huu-ay-aht First Nations has approximately 720 citizens
Ka:’yu:’k’t’h’/Che:k’tles7et’h’ has approximately 570 citizens
Toquaht Nation has approximately 150 citizen
Uchucklesaht Tribe has approximately 225 citizens
Yuułu ił ath [Ucluelet] has approximately 670 citizens
Maa-nulth First Nations have overlapping and/or shared territory with its First Nation neighbours: Ditidaht, Hupacasath, Tla-o-qui-aht and Tseshaht.
